Take heart! I have conquered the world…

John 16:31-33 (the message)

Jesus answered them, “Do you finally believe? In fact, you’re about to make a run for it- saving your own skins and abandoning me. But I’m not abandoned. The Father is with me. I told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I have conquered the world.”

The dark knight rises…

What does all this mean? How does anybody find good in all of this? I don’t know… But I heard a man say, “God is still in control.” that I know for certain. My heart goes out to the families and friends of those touched by this tragedy. I don’t have any answers but I know the One that does and I will be lifting up those people to Him in my prayers.

My steps are ordered…

(NLT) Psalms 37:23

The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.

I love this verse. I love that my steps are ordered but the part that really caught my eye tonight was, He delights in EVERY detail of my life and your life. Yes He really does care about everything. Even the things we think are to insignificant to bother Him with. Yes, he wants us to bring even those things to Him.

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award…

I have been nominated by a sister in Christ, Arlene the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award. I am honored and blessed. Arlene’s blog has been a blessing to me and I hope you will go and check out her blog at Armouredup.
So, here’s where I link back to the person who nominated me – And tell 7 things about myself….

1. I would rather share my testimony a hundred different times with a hundred different people than share it once in front of a hundred people.

2. I love Jesus with everything that I am.

3. Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorite authors.

4. I work with homeless and runaway youth and I love it.

5. I love the beach.

6. I got saved when I was 7 years old, but did not SURRENDER until I was 41 years old.

7. I am married to the most wonderful man ever!

Pass the award on to other bloggers – Besides Arlene, the following ladies/blogs have inspired me, made me laugh out loud, cry and send up prayers on their behalf. Many of them have much in common…well, that’s what a sisterhood is! Thank you for enriching my life as I peek into yours and celebrate with you! Bless you my sisters..

Let your faith remain strong…

1Peter 1:6-7

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold…though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

This spoke particularly to me today. I have been dealing with more than a full plate lately. Taking care of my mom and step-dad and my dad has been a little trying for the last month and a half. All this on top of going to school and being a wife and an internship. It really is a lot for any one person to handle but I am not in this alone. I have a wonderful husband who is handling my being gone a lot like a trooper. Never complaining or putting any pressure on me. He’s awesome! Even more than my wonderful husband, I have a BIG and Gracious Heavenly Father who walks with me every step of the way. I know I could not do everything I am doing without Him. I would be a wreck if the Lord wasn’t so gracious. I have more than I can handle but I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me! Philippians 4:13

God chooses…

Romans 9:15-16

For God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.” So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.

The Cracked Pot

A water bearer in India had two large pots. Each hung on one end of a pole, which he carried across his shoulders. One of the pots had a crack in it, and while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream to the master’s house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his master’s house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishment, being perfect to the end for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do. After years of what…
