Have you been counted as nothing?

1Corinthians 1:26-29

Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.

  1. I was counted as nothing for the first 22 years of my life. I was daily told I was too evil to live and should do the world a favour and kill myself.

Then, more than 54 years ago, my amazing God stepped in. He showed me Jesus Christ as my sin bearer. He gave me understanding and faith to believe. He adopted me into His own family as a blood-bought, precious child. I am His precious, beloved child. I am not nothing when I am clothed in Christ’s righteousness.

On the other hand, of course, I am nothing! Of myself, I am nothing and can do nothing. It is ONLY as He works in me and through me that He can accomplish His purpose. It is *ALL* His work!

What a tremendous privilege to be “nothing” in His hands and used by Him!
    What an amazing God!
