Matthew 5:43-47

Jesus:
“You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.’ But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in Heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. If you love only those who love you, what reward is there in that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that.

Where the Spirit of The Lord is there is freedom.

Wow! Today has been rough. I am emotionally drained and raw. I had to dismiss a young lady today from program. My first dismissal. This young lady is the mirror image of who I once was and now she is trying to hang on to her sobriety and is determined in her heart to make it. However, there was a bump in the road yesterday and she committed a safety violation which is grounds for immediate dismissal. She can return Monday for a team meeting to determine if she can return to program. Having said all that…. The part that is so hard is…. I don’t even know at this point what I’m trying to say. I hurt because she hurts. It’s like I’m watching myself going through the pain all over again. I hated telling her she had to leave. I know God has a plan in all this. I know He knows right where she is and what it’s going to take to move her forward. It’s just hard to watch. I remember all to well the pain I felt during my growth in the beginning of my sobriety. Please remember to pray for those who are broken and trying to figure out how to become what God designed them to be. The homeless, addicted, the lost little ones out there who don’t have it within themselves to believe it could ever be different.

Thanks for sharing my burden.

1 Chronicles 28:20

Then David continued, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of The Lord is finished correctly.

(God has chosen us as his Temple. He will finish the work that he has started in us, (Phil. 1:6. ) and he will be mindful of EVERY DETAIL. We are in good hands!)

My heart is heavy.

It is with a heavy heart that I write tonight. For the last 5 days I have been listening to news reports of a crazed gunman killing innocent people. First in Portland at Clackamas Town Center, which is less than 50 miles from my home and then yesterday in Newtown, Connecticut @ Sandy Hook Elementary School. My heart breaks for the families of the 20 children and the 6 women that were killed yesterday as well as the man and woman who died in Portland this week at the mall.

I think I’m bothered more by the fact that once the media coverage dies down that those of us who are far removed from these incidents will forget and go on with our lives while those parents and people who have lost someone will never be the same again. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t go on with our lives or that we should live in paralyzing fear but I wish there was some kind of change in people that would come from this. A heart change.

I wish that people would fall on their faces before God and repent of their wicked ways before this Country who was founded on FAITH IN GOD finds itself in much greater torment than it is already in.

America is on the brink of financial disaster, there are people going on killing sprees, children killing there parents and grandparents, parents killing their kids, husbands and wives killing each other not to mention other countries that are just waiting for us to destroy ourselves so they could take over. WAKE UP AMERICA! WAKE UP CHURCH! What is it going to take to bring us to the end of ourselves and on our knees before the Almighty God who rains on the just and the unjust?

Psalm 123
I lift my eyes to you, O God, enthroned in Heaven. We keep looking to the Lord our God for his mercy, just as servants keep their eyes on their master, as a slave girl watches her mistress for the slightest signal. Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy, for we have had our fill of contempt. We have had more than our full of the scoffing of the proud and the contempt of the arrogant.

(Lord, comfort the families in Connecticut while they grieve the loss of their loved ones.)

My steps are ordered…

(NLT) Psalms 37:23

The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.

I love this verse. I love that my steps are ordered but the part that really caught my eye tonight was, He delights in EVERY detail of my life and your life. Yes He really does care about everything. Even the things we think are to insignificant to bother Him with. Yes, he wants us to bring even those things to Him.

Malachi 4:1-3

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: “The day of judgement is coming, burning like a furnace. On that day the arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw. They will be consumed-roots, branches, and all. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. On the day when I act, you will tread upon the wicked as if they were dust under your feet,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

As for me and my house…

Joshua 24:15

“So fear the Lord and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away FOREVER the idols your ancestors worshiped”…(food, TV, electronics, video games, alcohol, drugs, money, sex, etc. to name a few.)
“But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve…But as for me and my house, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD!”
